Thank you for being a friend

When I was little I spent most of my free time outside. I would roll around in leaves, lay in the grass, build forts, climb trees, run through the woods. I didn’t know that ticks existed. And of course Lyme’s disease was not invented in a lab yet… well maybe they did or maybe they didn’t but it seems like Lyme’s disease popped back up and spread like wild fire.

Of course, I live in the Midwest now so it is very different from where I grew up in New York. Some years, you will have lots of ticks around to the point where you can not even walk to your car without pulling a couple of ticks off your pants. The weirdest thing you can drive a mile down the road and they barely have any encounters with the little things. Best thing to do is keep all your grass cut around your house. If you have animals make sure they have some sort of tick repellant. I sprinkle a little bit of food grade diatomaceous earth on my cat and work it into her fur a bit – that helps a lot.

Ticks are not really a big deal but the aftermath of an encounter of a tick is torturous. You all of a sudden have phantom tick syndrome. You start to scratch places that don’t even ich, and you swear there are ticks on you even though you check many times in many places with no luck. Well I guess you are lucky to not find any but lots of times you just feel like you are loosing all your inner peace.

The clip down below reminds me of some days with Ticks…

Ha ha! Well I guess they are not that bad. Close to it though… πŸ˜›

Have you seen more ticks around than when you were a kid?

From extremely small to large they just want a hug most of the time they stick out their arms for some love.
