Beyond Words

When I was little I did not speak, mainly because one of my older brothers did all the talking for me. I think that this was to my benefit. Through my first years of observation I realized quickly that there was a lot more to this world then just words. Most of my youth words were not a requirement. I was also blessed to live in an area where we could all wander around just being kids, playing with caterpillars, moss and sticks. This cultivated a deep appreciation and a subtle yet powerful connection with nature.

<—- Here is my oldest brother helping me learn how to love snakes almost as much as he did…

One day while I was with a good friend we began to slowly walk up to a small deer and the mother that was about 10 ft away just observing our actions. I had picked up some grass and was holding it out for the fawn. We had gotten about 3 feet from the babe and my friend slowly bent down and picked up grass to feed the little guy as well. Her movement and energy were fine, the deer didn’t react to that but shortly after she did that, in my head I thought – You shouldn’t of done that it will scare them off. As soon as I was done thinking that thought the mother deer snorted and was like – YOU ARE RIGHT we shouldn’t be here!! They both ran off immediately.

Animals don’t mess around when it comes to energy. Now did that Mama deer read my thoughts? I’m not sure but she felt the tension I created inside myself. I could not mask my energy. It was like a bomb that exploded. Through out my whole life I have had interactions with all different types of animals where I am pretty sure they could feel the meaning behind my energy. For instance…

While sitting in the warm sun enjoying the beautiful day, a dragonfly came and sat on the porch railing. I was mesmerized by this little being’s presence and how much he was enjoying the sun as much as I was. While I admired the beautiful holographic shimmering of his wings I thought – Where is your friend little buddy? As he stared up at me there was a slight pause in our interaction. It was as if he said to his friend – It’s okay! Come say hi… And just like that an invisible door opened in my 3d fabric of reality and out of nowhere his dragonfly friend just appeared out of thin air and landed on my arm. They hung out long enough to say – Hey we see you and heard you. No words were spoken between us. None were needed. ❤

I go for a walk with my little kitty almost every day. We have the best of times milling about enjoying the views. This little cat knows that I love her with all my heart. We have cultivated an energetic bond that doesn’t even need words. But yes I talk to my cat 🙂 ❤ When I do physically talk to her it is mostly in a language that I have made up. I call her about 60 different names and it doesn’t matter because she knows when I am talking to her because of my energy. Of course when I say her name (Key) she knows that I am all business. I either really want her attention or time to come home!! 😀

By presenting yourself with your heart in hand

any being can feel this.

In college I took a public speaking class and one of the topics that I chose to share with the class was that you do not need to have words to convey your message. I wish I kept my speech because it was a really good one. The best part was that at the end I held up a sign that looked something like this.

  1. Animals know much more than we give them credit for, and can do many things we cannot. Every act of reaching across that barrier is one for the team ~ both teams!

Poems you might wish to enjoy on my site on this subject include “Perhaps I Never Will,” and “talking to the mockingbirds.” There’s also a prose piece, “Tail of the Bear.”
