I would have called my Dad today
I can hear him say Hello
We would have talked of trees and bees
And fun projects.
We would talk about philosophies
If you would call them that
The best part is we would talk
“What are you up to Dad?”
“Just Breathin…” he would say
Now that I’m the one left breathin
A lump comes to my throat
And a smile of the hours spent
Laughing at Dad’s jokes
I love you Dad
I still hear you
You are with me in the trees
And all the hours spent
Forever in Memory.
